Description

Overview & Purpose

Shakti Hörmann fire doors are part of their commercial / industrial door range,
designed to compartmentalize fire, limit smoke spread, and allow safe egress in buildings.

They are tested & certified to meet Indian (BIS/ISI) and international fire standards.

Fire ratings offered include 60, 90, 120, and 180 minutes (for integrity / stability) depending on the variant.

Construction & Materials

Frame:-
1) The door frame is typically made from galvanized steel. For example, a “single rebate”
grooved profile frame of 125 × 55 mm using 1.60 mm (16 gauge) thick galvanized steel is specified in one of their data sheets.
2) There are variants: for insulated doors, a deeper frame profile is used (e.g. 125 × 75 mm).
3) The frames are mitered or butt-jointed, and may incorporate smoke seals.
4) Frames for glazed doors must accommodate glass, with steel beading and ceramic tape as per test specimen.

Door Leaf / Shutter

1) The door leaf is also made of galvanized steel sheets — typical thicknesses are 1.2 mm (for shutter or face) in many variants.
2) The internal core (“infill”) may be honeycomb or high-density mineral wool / fire-resistant insulation depending on whether
the door is “uninsulated” or “insulated.”
3)For glazed fire doors, the leaf may be a boxed profile (e.g. SH85 type) to take the glass sections.
4)The shutter (leaf) is prepped (“prepped 60 mm”) to receive hardware (hinges, locks, closers).

Glazing (Vision Panels)
1) Some variants allow fire-rated glass vision panels, held in place using beading and ceramic tape.
2)Glass thickness is often specified (e.g. 8 mm pyran glass) in the specs of fully glazed doors.
3) Glass must meet fire integrity, stability, and light transmission standards (e.g. EN1363, EN1364) as tested in the original door assembly.

Finishes & Coating

The visible surfaces (frame & door leaf) are usually finished with powder coating (polyester powders)
of specified thickness (e.g. 50 microns on face side) in approved color(s).
The system may be salt-spray tested (e.g. 500 hours) to ensure corrosion resistance.

Hardware & Accessories

1) Hinges: heavy-duty, ball-bearing type hinges (100 × 75 × 3 mm or similar) are used.
2) Door closers, mortise locks, deadlocks, panic devices are provided in prepped conditions.
3) For double doors, meeting stiles may include integral astragals.
4) Smoke seals (gaskets) at frame edges are included in fire-rated designs to limit smoke leakage.
5) For glazed doors, steel beading and ceramic tape are used to anchor glass in a fire-safe manner
